A Pumpkin's Second Chance: Aidie Creek's Gift to Cochrane's Polar Bears

Sometimes the best endings come from a little disappointment. Aidie Creek Gardens grew a giant pumpkin this fall—so big and so impressive it weighed in at **1,711 pounds**. But when competition time came around, the rules didn't bend. The pumpkin was disqualified. Instead of ending up as compost, it found a home where it could still bring joy. The Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat welcomed the massive gourd, and now Ganuk and Henry (and any other bears at the habitat) have something special to explore and enjoy. That's the kind of story we love to see: local growers, local animals, and a whole lot of community heart. Here's to Aidie Creek Gardens for turning a setback into something that matters.

“When life gives you a giant pumpkin, share it.” — Uncle Sam
