Protecting What We Love: Over 81,000 Hectares of Boreal Forest Saved

Great news for our corner of the North—over 81,000 hectares of boreal forest and peatlands south of Kapuskasing are now protected through a new conservation project right here in the Cochrane District. That's a lot of green space staying green. The forest and peatlands that make our region special—the wild places many of us love to explore, the habitat for wildlife, the carbon-storing peatlands that help the whole planet—are now safeguarded for the future. It's the kind of win that reminds us what matters: clean air, clean water, and wild places our kids and their kids can enjoy too. Thanks to everyone working to keep the North wild and healthy.
