Cochrane Votes: 47% Turnout in Municipal Election

On October 26, Cochrane held its municipal election, and the numbers tell a story of community engagement. **47.3% voter turnout** — that means 2,236 of our 4,725 eligible voters made it to the polls. That's a solid showing when you think about it. Nearly half our town took the time to have a say in who leads us forward. This election brought change: Sylvie Charron-Lemieux was elected mayor with 1,894 votes, making her Cochrane's first elected female mayor. It's a milestone worth celebrating. Whether you voted or not, the fact remains — when we show up, we shape our future. Here's to the folks who made their voice heard, and to the leadership ahead.
