Farm Drainage Work Coming to the Area

The Northern Ontario Farm Innovation Alliance is getting a big boost to help our farmers. Ontario is putting $1 million into an 1,800-acre tile-drainage project right here in the Timiskaming–Cochrane region. What does that mean? Better drainage on farmland helps crops grow stronger and gives farmers the tools they need to keep growing food for all of us. It's the kind of work that happens quiet-like, underground, but it makes a real difference to the farms that feed our communities. If you've got family in farming or work the land yourself, this is good news for the region.

“We're grateful when good things happen for the people who work hard to feed us.” — Uncle Sam
