A Million Dollars for Better Farmland Right Here

Good news for the farmers around Cochrane and Timiskaming—the Northern Ontario Farm Innovation Alliance just landed $1 million to improve farmland in our backyard. The money is going toward an 1,800-acre tile-drainage project. Better drainage means healthier soil, less flooding when the rains come heavy, and longer growing seasons for our local farms. That's real money doing real work to support the people who feed us. If you've got a farm or know someone who does, keep your eyes open for updates on how this project rolls out. This is the kind of investment that makes a difference for families and the land they work.
