A Million Dollar Boost for Cochrane Agriculture

Good news for local farmers: Ontario is putting $1 million toward a tile-drainage project in the Timiskaming–Cochrane region. The project covers about 1,800 acres and is designed to help manage water on farmland, keeping soil healthy and crops productive through all kinds of weather.\n\nTile drainage is especially important in fall and spring when water can pool on fields. This investment shows the province understands how much our farming community matters—not just to Cochrane, but to feeding the whole province.\n\nIf you've got land in agriculture or know someone who does, this could be worth looking into. More details are available through the provincial agriculture office.
